The term “86ed” originates from a bar in New York City. Unwanted patrons were forced to leave through the back door, and the street address of this rear exit was 86. The military used the term ‘86′ to say that something is out of stock, not in the inventory, and equally unsavory organizations use it to connote death, as in being 86ed from life itself, the ultimate and most nonexclusive of all clubs.
I’ve been 86ed from places and so have a lot of people I know, and often, there’s a good story behind these incidents. So I started collecting them. And here we are now.
